SUTTON ATTACKS DURHAM OVER CELTIC RANT

Celtic soccer legend Chris Sutton has hit out at Adrian Durham during their online bust-up. The former Celtic player had taken to Twitter, posting:

“Blimey if a Scottish team had lost and humiliated 10-2 we would be hearing how bad the standard of the league is...”

talkSPORT radio presenter Durham responded in a lengthy rant to the Record Sport writer, even criticising Celtic’s loss to Lincoln Red Imps when they met in a Champions League qualifier. That was the first real game under Coach Brendan Rodgers when he took over.

The team was able to find their footing before going on to impress against Premier League giant Manchester City in the group stages of the continental tournament.

Durham attack comes barely a week after another presenter Jason Cundy attacked same Celtic. Cundy said Stoke City were a biggest club that Celtic. His statement forced Rodgers to label him “ignorant” over his “lack of football knowledge.”

“Adrian has a vivid imagination. He has history of rants and sometimes they are factual but he clearly took it upon himself to misrepresent my tweet. He said there was so much wrong with my tweet!

“This is a guy who is sticking up for his mate Jason Cundy after Brendan Rodgers dressed him down for his ridiculous comment last week! A guy who claimed I said SPFL is on a par with the EPL. Sorry Adrian you made that up,” Sutton response in Record Sport Online read.

Sutton kept on hitting at Durham’s comments in the past: from when he claimed Arsenal were not a representative of the Premier League, or comments Durham made against Scottish football.

Sutton then claimed that better finance was the reason for English clubs’ success and then added that they have underperformed compared to their European counterparts, considering the huge pool of resources at their disposal.
