Brendan Rodgers is trying to keep hold of Stuart Armstrong
On April 2 of 2017, Celtic FC was claimed as the champions of the Scottish Premiership for the season of 2016-17, even though there were still more than 5 league matches left to be played, it made no difference as the lead that Celtic FC had over everyone else in the league was just too much.
This is the 6th successive Scottish Premiership title that Celtic FC has secured which shows how dominant that they have been in the past decade. It seems like Celtic FC is just on another level above all the other clubs that are currently competing in the top tier Scottish League.
One Celtic player who has recently stood out and attracted the attention of various clubs from the English Premier League is Stuart Armstrong.
Armstrong has been performing with the Scottish club since January of 2015 with more appearances being made as each season passes by. He has been included in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year on 3 separate occasions (2013-14, 2014-15 and 2016-17)
His contributions have not gone unnoticed as a number of English Premier League clubs have shown interest in securing the services of the 25 year old Scottish midfielder but Brendan Rodgers is hoping that Stuart Armstrong will stay with Celtic FC for a few more years.
¨I know the Premier League inside out and if he wants to go there then ok. He can still get there but to arrive at the right moment its important, to arrive as an established European player, winning trophies and with more international experience. He can develop, push on this year and get more experience of European football. That will add even more value to him¨ Celtic FC´s Brendan Rodgers said.
Southampton, West Bromwich Albion and Brighton & Hove Albion are some of the English clubs that have shown most interest in securing the services of Stuart Armstrong but the head coach of Celtic, Brendan Rodgers is hoping that Armstrong stays with them for a few more years.
