Celtic interested in West Ham striker Albian Ajeti
As per the reports of Sky Sports, Scottish club Celtic have shown interest on the West Ham player Albian Ajeti. They are ready to sign the player for £5 million and the reports suggest that the player will be signing a temporary deal with the club. The player will be undergoing a medical examination for the Scottish club this week.
The club might be disheartened with the use of the loan market in the last season, as they were unable to hold on to Fraser Forsteron leaving the club after the loan move. Another player Mohamed Elyounoussi has returned to Celtic for his second loan spell at Parkhead. Their next move was for the West Ham striker Ajeti, who are they are offering loan deal. The club will be including a clause in the deal where the club can sign the player for £5 million.
The player started his club career at the youth academy of Baseland later he was promoted to the first team of the club. Later in 2016, he joined Augsburg, where he stayed for a year and later he was transferred to St Gallen, where stayed there for another year.
In 2017, he returned to his youth club Basel and appeared in 58 games for the club. Only last summer, he was transferred to Premier League club West Ham United where he appeared in nine games for the club.
West Ham may agree for the loan move as the player has been struggling to perform in the top flight of English football. The player still hasn’t been able to secure his first start of the club. The loan stands more out like a gamble and if Ajeti succeeds in impressing the club then the gain will be of Celtic and West Ham will lose the player.
