Celtic defender Christopher Jullien has revealed his ambition of playing in the Premier League in the future. The 26-year-old made the move to the Hoops from Toulouse during the summer transfer window and he has since quickly settled at the heart of the club’s defence where he has partnered the likes of Kristoffer Ajer and Nir Bitton.

Speaking to France Football, the Frenchman said that the Hoops are a fantastic institution, considering the players are being watched on a consistent basis. The centre-back added that he has the dream of playing in the Premier League and is unsure what the future could pave for him, he told: “(Celtic) is a great institution, which is not only watched by English clubs. The desire is to perform (because) there will be people in the stands. I want to settle down and be effective. Yes, the English Premier League has always been a goal, a dream, for sure. But today, I have taken a path that will make me grow whatever happens. We do not know what the future will be like.”

Dedryck Boyata and Filip Benkovic were the preferred central defensive partnership last term and the duo helped the Hoops celebrate a third domestic treble on the bounce. Boyata has since parted ways with the club to join Hertha Berlin in Germany while Benkovic has returned to parent club Leicester City after the conclusion of the season-long loan deal.

As a result, the Hoops have witnessed a complete overhaul of the defence with Kieran Tierney also making the move away from the club to join Arsenal. Celtic have made the perfect start to the league season with five wins on the bounce and that sees them with a two-point advantage over Rangers at the top. They recently played out a 1-1 draw against Rennes during the Europa League opener.
