Brendan Rodgers wants Celtic fans to have patience

Ever since Brendan Rodgers was appointed as the manager of Celtic FC on May of 2016, the Scottish team has not appeared to be as dominant as they used to be with their former coach Ronny Deila.

This has become evident since the first competitive match that Celtic FC played under the tutelage of Brendan Rodgers as they faced off with Lincoln Red Imps in their first leg of their 2nd qualifying round of the 2016-17 Champions League and sustained a 0-1 defeat which is a very surprising and underwhelming result.

Celtic FC did manage to pull through in the 2nd leg as they scored 3 goals past Lincoln Red Imps and recovered from their early deficit.

The Scottish outfit later went on to play against Leicester City where they came out on top with a victory during a penalty session and defeating Astana with an aggregate scoreboard of 3-2 as Brendan Rodgers and his team continued their journey of getting into the Champions League for the approaching season.

A lot of Celtic’s latest wins have arrived through penalty kicks and this isn’t the most convincing or dominating way to snatch victories. Brendan Rodgers is well aware that his team has not been performing at their usual best and the Northern Irish coach has called for patience from the fans of the club.

“The supporters were unbelievable for us tonight but the only thing I would say to them is I think they need to show a little bit of patience as well. I’m a Celtic supporter. I know what they want and how desperately they want it but they put the players on edge at times tonight’’ Celtic’s Brendan Rodgers said.
